History

ICT started as a small company focused on optimizing facilities’ cooling capabilities by using only the highest-quality materials and components. This still holds true today, but ICT has grown into a North American market leader in industrial cooling tower design, manufacturing and field services. ICT has expanded across the U.S., with offices in Deer Park and La Porte, Texas; Chandler, Arizona; and Edmonton Alberta. Integrity, experience and striving for innovative solutions have formed the foundation on which ICT’s current long-term business relationships are built.

The Beginning

1958

First Cooling Tower Project in Canada

1960

DA Baron joins the Company and overs year becomes sole Owner

1961

First New Cooling Tower Installation for Celanese in Canada

1962

DA Baron moves to role of Principal

Dow Chemicals installed New Towers in Canada

Rebuilt Celanese CF tower in Canada

1963

New Cooling Towers Sold to Inland Chemicals

1964

Company moves to new office location in Edmonton, Alberta

New Towers sold to DOW Chemicals – Cominco – SAIT – Foothills Medical

Growth Years

1965-74

Sells and Installs 300 cells of cooling towers for Major Clients DOW, Texaco Gulf, Cominco, Johns Manville, Phillips 76, ESSO, Union Carbide, CF industries, Air Liquide.

Construction team trains in Nevada on Bent Building Cooling Towers

1974

Emergency replacement of 8 cell tower replaced in 6 weeks Esso Chemicals Red Water AB.

Bought first two Zoom Boom Forklifts from Germany

Installation of Cooling Towers at Syncrude 17 cells first major installation in Canadian Oil Sands

1975

Installation of Largest Sound Attenuated Cooling Tower in North America – Esso Petroleum

1976

First Turn Key Cooling Tower Installations Esso Chemicals – Alberta Power

1977-83

Towers Built for Shell – Syncrude – Nova Chemicals

1983

DA Baron changes company’s name to – International Cooling Tower, Inc.

USA Expansion Begins

1989

International Cooling Tower USA incorporated – Office in Tucson AZ

1993

Expansion begins with projects at Salt River Project (SRP), Montana Power and Tri States G&T

1996

Fabrication facility opens in Surrey BC

1999

30 cells of cooling tower built for NOVA Chemicals

2004

Purchases Engineering Company in Golden CO

Emergency Replacement 8 cells – 11 weeks

2005

Sales Office opens in Houston TX

2008

Awarded first 40 Million Dollar Contract – 48 cell cooling tower

World’s First Mobile Platform Assembly of Cooling Tower

2009

USA operations consolidated in Texas City TX

2017

Sales and Project Management office opens Deer Park TX

Hurricane Maria – Several replacement towers completed in Puerto Rico

First Module Build – all modules staged at La Porte Facility

2018

Regional Sales Office Tampa FL opens

Order for 32 cell cooling tower Shell Chemicals

2019

ICT Fabrication Opens Facility in Chandler AZ

Modular Cooling Tower Assembly – 8 cells staged at LaPorte Facility

2020

Hurricane Laura Repairs and replacement towers completed in SW Louisiana

Bechtel Southfield (16 cells) , DTE Bluewater (14 cells) complete new tower installations.

2022

ICT USA Group acquires the North American assets of Hamon Deltak Inc., expanding the companies industrial service products to Waste Heat Recovery Solutions with a new entity Deltak Inc.
